How To: Make Sprinkle Rimmed Cups

Updated: Jan 25, 2020

This is SUPER EASY and surprisingly quick.

As hosts, we always think of ways to give our guests something easy to talk about as soon as the party starts. Sprinkle rimmed glasses are a great ice breaker...and don’t be fooled, there is no age restriction on sprinkles!

Ingredients

  • 1/4 C white chocolate chips

  • 1/4 tsp coconut oil

  • Sprinkles, as needed

  • Cups/glasses of choice

  • 1 Shallow microwave safe bowl (or double boiler)

  • 1 Shallow plate or bowl

💡Tip: Do this in small batches (1/4 cup of white chocolate at a time) so you don’t waste ingredients.

Directions

  • In microwave safe bowl, add white chocolate chips and coconut oil and melt.

💡Tip: I use the microwave on ”Melt” > “Chocolate” setting and monitor, stirring every 20 seconds. The defrost option will work too. Otherwise, use double boiler.

  • Get your sprinkles ready on a plate/shallow bowl!

  • Once chocolate is melted, place rim of cup gently in chocolate. Don’t over-dip! Entire surface should have chocolate. This is the glue.

  • Roll it in those sprinkles and see the colors come alive!

  • Set aside to harden before stacking. It’s cold here in NY right now even with the heat on. It takes about 5 minutes to fully dry here. You’ll know.

  • Repeat.

💡Tip: I boil water and put it in another larger shallow bowl. I place the white chocolate bowl in this hot water bowl if I have a lot of cups to do. This keeps the chocolate melted much longer. Refill the water as soon as it gets lukewarm.

Sprinkles look amazing on champagne glasses, adding a fun and different touch at parties. Sprinkle dipped to-go cups were all the rave at Photos with Shasta!
